A HOSPITAL anti-cuts campaigner is calling on local people to sign a petition demanding the health secretary addresses concerns over Inverclyde Royal.
Liberal Democrats election candidate Jacci Stoyle, who is standing at the upcoming Holyrood elections, recently wrote to Jeanne Freeman urging her to take part in a virtual meeting about the future of IRH.
Dr Stoyle set out concerns about intensive care beds, as well as the closure of the local GP out of hours service and other downgrades.
She said: "Having received unsatisfactory responses from the NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde I decided we should seek answers from the government.
"I have received an acknowledgement of my letter, but as yet no response to my invitation.
"Again and again, I listen to the frustrations of members of the community, seeing their cherished hospital being dismantled service by service. "
The petition is online at www.saveinverclyderoyal.co.uk
