GREENOCK is to feature in a major new TV series.
Darren McGarvey’s Class Wars, which is currently running on the BBC Scotland channel, sees the social activist take a thought-provoking look at the modern day social class system.
Meeting a wide range of people Darren confronts the existence and impact of social class in Scotland today, challenging his own perceptions of class along the way.
One episode will centre on Greenock as Darren discusses everything from call centres to shipbuilding, as well as visiting Bellvile Community Garden in the town.
Darren is pictured here with Laura Reilly of Belville during his visit.
He told the Tele: “This is about seeing how others live."
This new series follows McGarvey’s highly-acclaimed Scotland series on the channel, which looked at poverty in some of the country's most deprived places.
Darren comes face to face with two former offenders in Greenock to find out if there is a link between knife crime and social class and then looks into one of our biggest industries - call centres.
Class Wars will air on February 23 at 10pm.
