THE decision on whether to increase taxi fares across Inverclyde has been delayed.
Members of the general purposes board met on February 10 to discuss the annual review of price scales.
But board chairman, Councillor Gerry Dorrian, told the Tele that more information has been requested before members make a call.
Before the meeting, taxi drivers and operators - including Henry Glasgow of Inverclyde Taxis - publicly called for a fare increase to help drivers who have seen a significant fall in takings since the start of the coronavirus pandemic.
A decision is expected to be taken at the next meeting of the board on February 26.
