A PENSIONER convicted of multiple domestically aggravated offences breached a court order to stay away from his victim by turning up drunk at her Greenock home - at 3am.

David Kerr, 67 — who smashed the woman's mobile phone with a screwdriver in one incident — was lying 'highly intoxicated' on her couch when police arrived at the Millar Street property.

Kerr is on a bail condition not to approach or contact the woman in any way in relation to an upcoming summary trial where he is charged with committing another offence against her.

Prosecutor Abbas Ali told the sheriff court: "The complainer requested that police attend due to the accused being within the locus and having bail conditions not to enter there.

"She advised that the accused had been requested to leave and had refused."

Kerr was convicted in December 2018 of vandalising the woman's phone in a drunken rage during an incident where he later told her she had 'no right' to use his phone to call for help.

He called her a 'clown' after she went to his aid when he fell down a flight of stairs.

Kerr has also previously threatened the woman with violence.

Defence lawyer Ellen Macdonald said of the bail breach offence: "The background report gives a fairly sad set of circumstances.

"Mr Kerr's wife passed away and he later met the complainer and both have difficulties with alcohol."

Kerr, of Balloch Road, committed the offence last month.

Sheriff Thomas Ward fined him £140.
