A PORT Glasgow woman punched a teenage boy on the head after accusing him of stealing £10 from her flat.
Sandra McKillop, 43, thumped the youngster after apparently getting 'short shrift' from him over the alleged theft.
She has now been fined £360 for the assault, which took place on the town's Princes Street.
Greenock Sheriff Court heard how the boy had been in McKillop's flat but had to go home in order to charge his mobile phone.
Prosecutor John Penman said: "Once charged there was a voicemail from the accused regarding £10 she said had been stolen from her.
"The boy knew nothing about this and went to sort the situation out.
"At the Spar store on Princes Street the accused assaulted him in the manner libelled."
McKillop, of John Wood Street, pleaded guilty through lawyer Aidan Gallagher to seizing the boy by the body and punching him.
Mr Gallagher said: "Parties were known to each other and are referred to in the summary of evidence as acquaintances.
"She confronted him about the money and, according to her, got short shrift from him.
"It was a single punch in the heat of the moment.
"She tells me that she received a punch in the face as well."
Sheriff Andrew McIntyre told McKillop: "In view of the absence of a record for this kind of thing and the fact that you have not offended recently I'm prepared to deal with this mater by way of a fine."
