WEST College Scotland lecturers at the Greenock campus have called off a planned strike.
Colleges Scotland held last-ditch talks with the EIS-FELA union to stop industrial action going ahead.
EIS-FELA depute branch secretary Mark Gillan said: "We have a national agreement in place that states lecturer duties must be performed by lecturers.
"We expect Colleges Scotland and all learning bases across Scotland to hold true to agreements without disrespecting lecturers, students and communities.
"Colleges need quality education delivered by suitably qualified professional lecturing staff in every area."
