ENQUIRIES into whether a Vietnamese man arrested in connection with a claimed £1m cannabis farm in Port Glasgow is a victim of modern day slavery are continuing.
How Van Hoang was arrested along with a 17-year-old youth — also Vietnamese — after police raided the disused former Plaza/Gala bingo hall in the town last December.
It emerged last month that there were concerns that Mr How, 40, could have been trafficked to Inverclyde by organised criminals.
Prosecutor Frankie Morgan told the latest hearing at Greenock Sheriff Court: "The Home Office is still making enquiries. The Crown is under a continuing duty to assess cases."
The case has been adjourned until next month.
