SPECIALIST Greenock engineers working on the MV Loch Seaforth ferry say they expect her back in service by the middle of May.
The £42m CalMac vessel is currently at Garvel Dry Dock as workers from Dales Marine repair a failure on her port side engine.
CalMac announced yesterday that they hope to return their summer timetable to normal by May 17, meaning the ferry is almost ready to return to its route between Stornoway and Ullapool.
Robbie Drummond, managing director of CalMac, said: “The loss of MV Loch Seaforth affected other services and caused a lot of disruption to customers.
"We are sorry about this but hope to return things to normal by the middle of this month."
