SAFETY checks have been carried out after a lorry struck a railway bridge on the line in the east end of Greenock.
Rail operators were alerted to the incident on the Glasgow to Gourock line around 11.30am on Friday.
Network Rail inspectors visited the scene of the collision, between Bogston and Cartsdyke.
A spokesman confirmed that the site was cleared, inspections carried out and it was then deemed safe to resume services.
Two train services were cancelled as a result of the accident.
