A FIFTH person has been arrested in connection with the firebomb attacks which took place in Greenock last year.
A 23-year-old man has been charged following a wilful fire raising incident which took place at a property in Cumberland Road on September 19.
The man is due to appear at Greenock Sheriff Court tomorrow.
The arrest marks the latest development in the Operation Tell investigation into the attacks.
Detective Superintendent Gerry McBride said: “This is the fifth arrest and charge in connection with the incident at Cumberland Road and another significant development in our investigations into a number of fire raisings in the area.
“Enquiries remain ongoing and I would continue to urge anyone with information to contact police.”
