A SENIOR councillor has praised a local firm as it prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
David Wilson, who combines his role representing Kilmacolm with a position within Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, congratulated McGill's ahead of the bus company's big day on July 3.
Councillor Wilson said: "I wish to congratulate McGill's, its owners, management and staff on its upcoming birthday.
"McGills is now among the three biggest bus companies in Scotland, is active in the transition to electric buses and a big supporter of real time passenger information, which can increasingly be seen at bus stops in Inverclyde.
"In my role as chair of operations at SPT, I can say with authority that McGill's provides an unparalleled service for Inverclyde. The regularity of the bus operation in Port Glasgow, Greenock and Gourock is quite excellent."
