INVERCLYDE'S MP has praised Morton for taking the sponsor off their home strip this year to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the club's Scottish Cup win.
Ronnie Cowan, whose late dad Jimmy was a legendary Cappielow goalkeeper, congratulated the decision to go with the retro style kit to mark the 1-0 win against Rangers at Hampden in 1922.
He said: "I am pleased Morton have decided that the first kit will not carry any sponsor this season.
"It’s the blue and white hoops that matter."
