BRANCHTON Community Centre held its first foodshare last week since lockdown.
Local people can come along on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and pick up a bag of groceries.
This includes bread or items kept in the centre's fridges.
Carl McEwan, project development officer at the centre, who is the climate challenge development officer, said: "The foodshare ties in with our project 'Our Footprints Our Future' - it's about reducing food waste.
"We are working alongside volunteers at Larkfield Tenants' Hall. Their foodshare will run on a Saturday.
"Foodshare is all about using excess food from supermarkets that would otherwise be thrown out.
"Bruce Newlands is also donating vegetables from the Shore Street gardens."
The foodshare is open between 9am and 1pm.
