THE BEACON is back with a bang as they take part in the 'Summer of Fun' for school kids.
Creative Learning co-ordinator Kate Stevens and the team have put on a series of workshops for youngsters during the holidays.
There is plenty of art, drama and music for all ages to keep them entertained for free.
The arts centre one of the venues hosting the programme which aims to help children recover from Covid-19 and support families during the long holidays.
But it also give the team a chance to support freelancers in the creative industry, who have faced a difficult time over the last year.
Co-ordinator Kate Stevens said: "It is just great to have people back in the building. We are delighted to see all the children at our workshops having a good time.
"The Summer of Fun is fantastic and it has helped us support freelance facilitators. We have been able to employ people, which is great."
Visual artist Dawn Hair, who works with Rig Arts, lead the Creative Quest.
Cousins Henry Kelly, 9, and Max Harvey, 7, had a chance to design their own monster.
Gourock's Henry said: "We have signed up for other stuff as well, it is great having lots to do and we have been busy drawing a monster."
Student Jess Smith, who has worked with Beacon Youth Theatre, is also working as facilitator at the Beacon, supporting the workshops.
The 21-year-old added: "I have volunteered with the Beacon and it is great to have this opportunity. There is so much on offer for the youngsters this year, which is important."
