A GREENOCK man charged with throttling a woman until she lost consciousness to the danger of her life has maintained a plea of not guilty at the sheriff court.
Barry Smith, 37, is said to have carried out an assault to injury on his partner during an alleged disturbance within her home.
Smith, of Leven Road, is accused of seizing the woman by the neck, pulling her to the floor, standing astride her, placing his hands around her neck and compressing her throat last July.
He is due to stand trial before a jury in October.
