INFLATABLES, games, crafts and lots of fun are on the timetable at Notre Dame High this summer.

Active Schools and the Community Learning and Development youth team have been running action-packed activities as part of the council's Summer of Fun 21 schedule.

Gillian Hughes, senior active schools co-ordinator says youngsters are enjoying a variety of games and creative activities.

The programme is open for kids in P7-S3 and is running across all Inverclyde high schools.

Gillian said: "This gives young people the opportunity to get active and meet different people.

"I think this year, more so than ever, it is important to get out and for more social interaction and meet new friends.

"It's really important as many of these kids are going to high school after the summer, so they will be making friends with the people they are going to high school with."

Sessions are free and they run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The P7 group gets together from 10am until 12.30pm and S1 to S3 meet between 1-3.30pm.

Meanwhile there are also Sports4All summer sessions being run by Active Schools, giving children at all levels the ability an opportunity to exercise and have fun.

This group have been enjoying archery, basketball and indoor curling.

Mhairi Lyle, Active Schools co-ordinator said: "Sports 4 All is a disability and additional needs club.

"It runs every Wednesday at Notre Dame during school time and we are running summer sessions every Tuesday and Thursday."
