A LOCAL life-saving charity supporting domestic abuse victims has been given a four-figure cash boost by an online retail giant.
Inverclyde Women's Aid received a £1,000 cash windfall from the team at Amazon's fulfilment centre in Gourock.
The charity - that support women children and young people affected by domestic abuse - will use the money towards the purchase of essential items to furnish the charity's refuge accommodation.
Jamie Walker, Site Leader at Amazon in Gourock, said: "We are proud to support Inverclyde Women’s Aid with this donation.
"The charity offers invaluable services to women and children in our community who have been impacted by domestic abuse, and we want to support its great work."
The charity received the donation as part of Amazon's programme to support communities around its operating locations across the UK>
Marylin McGill, Service Manager of Inverclyde Women’s Aid, added: "On behalf of myself and the rest of the team at Inverclyde Women’s Aid, I want to say a big thank you to Jamie and the Amazon team in Gourock for supporting us with this donation and helping us to provide a safe environment for women and children in refuge with essential items to make them comfortable during their stay."
