INVERCLYDE'S MP is continuing to push for the introduction of a 'basic income' to be paid to all citizens.
Ronnie Cowan will take part in an event in Scotland which will see speakers from all over the globe promote the idea.
The Basic Income Earth Network Congress will be held in Glasgow.
Mr Cowan said: "I believe the time for introducing a basic income is now.
"It could act as a safety net for those struggling to make ends meet and give them the opportunity to empower themselves and move forward.
"I was delighted to BIEN Congress for 2021 is to be held, virtually, in Glasgow, as this will be a tremendous opportunity to show to the rest of the world the actions Scotland has already taken in pursuing a basic income."
