SHOPPERS at Tesco in Greenock are helping to turn fruit and veg into meals to stop children going hungry.
Store community champion Lorella Sutherland is highlighting a campaign to use sales of the healthy foodstuffs to support local good causes.
Every time a customer buys fruit and veg, Tesco donates a meal to the FareShare charity.
They are passed on to the local Inverclyde Foodbank, Belville Community Garden and Inverclyde Women's Aid as part of the Buy One to Help a Child scheme.
Lorella said: "I think we will raise a lot of money for meals in Greenock and it is great that local charities will benefit from this.
"We have a really close partnership with the foodbank as well as other good causes.
"This is a fantastic campaign."
