A COUNCILLOR has tabled a formal request for all CalMac ferry contracts to go Ferguson Marine to secure the future of the yard.
Labour's Colin Jackson will ask the full council to support his motion tomorrow as he calls on the Scottish Government to make a commitment after sending two future contracts overseas.
He says that without the legal constraints of being part of the European Union, ministers have the power to do so.
Councillor Jackson said: "This is a complete failure by the Scottish Government and they need to reverse this decision immediately."
