THE ferry terminal at Gourock was pressed into action as a port of refuge on Tuesday.
As wild weather battered the Clyde coast, both the Arran and Rothesay ferries were diverted here.
MV Caledonian Isles berthed late in the afternoon on a crossing from Brodick, due to the deteriorating conditions at Ardrossan.
Wemyss Bay to Rothesay services were also switched to Gourock as well, while the Gourock to Dunoon route had to be suspended due to the stormy conditions.
