PUPILS from a local primary school paid their respects to the fallen during a service at Lyle Hill.
Youngsters from Ardgowan Primary's P6/7, P7a and P7b classes were joined by school chaplains Rev Jonathon Fleming and Rev Karen Harbison at the Free French Memorial to mark Remembrance Day.
Two pupils read excerpts from Laurence Binyon's poem 'For the Fallen' and a two minute silence was observed.
Those who stayed behind at the school also observed a two minute silence.
As part of their in-class learning around Remembrance Day, the pupils had also written 'blackout poems' inspired by John McCrae's 'In Flanders Fields'.
The students also created collaborative art pieces and helped to create displays around the school featuring poppy art and wreaths.
