INVERCLYDE'S MSP Stuart McMillan has praised the work of Skills Development Scotland (SDS) in the district.
To mark the first ever Scottish Careers Week, Mr McMillan visited the organisation's branch in Greenock and spoke to Port Glasgow school leaver Shaun Higgins about his interest in politics and plans to go to university.
Mr McMillan says SDS in Inverclyde is helping young people to achieve their ambitions - even if their career path looks different to what they'd imagined.
He added: "From speaking with Shaun and his career advisor it's clear that the pandemic has interrupted the education and career journeys of many young people.
"I welcome the theme of this year's Scottish Careers Week as it's focused on the future of jobs, growth industries and the skills that will be needed workplaces of the future."
