A LOCAL firm is proving hot property after being named one of the UK's top estate agents in a national guide.
McArthur Scott have been making all the right moves and staff were delighted to be recognised as an 'exceptional' firm in the Best Estate Agent Guide 2022.
The guide, which is supported by Rightmove and Property Academy, recognised the Gourock-based business's 'outstanding level of service and care towards prospective clients' by awarding it gold accreditation in its latest edition.
The award means that the property firm is ranked in the top five per cent of the UK's estimated 15,000 estate agency brands and companies.
Fiona McArthur, who started the business in Brougham Street in January 2018, says the accolade is a credit to the hard work of the company's staff.
When McArthur Scott was founded, Fiona was a property industry novice who had previously worked in marketing and customer service.
She says her aim was to bring a customer service twist to the estate agency world.
After starting out with only two properties on the books, McArthur Scott has grown exponentially - having now helped over 2,000 purchasers make a move.
The estate agent currently employs four members of staff, including Fiona and her mother Lynne, but is planning on bringing a new colleague on board in the new year to drive the growth of its lettings business.
The new hire will be the next in a series of steps the firm has been taking to keep up with its ever-growing client base, having left its Brougham Street base last October to move into a new building on Gourock's John Street.
Fiona says the company are hoping to secure premises in Renfrewshire in the near future to further expand their business.
She said: "The award was totally unexpected to be honest.
"We all work really hard and see the benefits of our marketing and customer service but you never expect to be recognised on a national level for it.
"To be performing that well against agents not just locally but nationally is amazing and we're very proud.
"This just shows the strength and commitment of the team."
