TEACHERS drafted in to schools in Inverclyde under a Covid recovery programme are still being used to cover staff absences.
A report by education bosses says that last October was particularly problematic because so many staff were off waiting for the results of PCR coronavirus tests or isolating at home.
Before Christmas the situation had eased somewhat.
Schools are still experiencing lower pupil attendance because of Covid tests, but rates have improved.
