TOMORROW we are kicking off our Time To Talk campaign for 2022 to help tackle the stigma around mental health.
As well as sharing good news stories and advice on where to turn for help, we will be devoting all our social media channels to spreading positivity.
Last year our initiative was adopted industry-wide - with mentions given to the Telegraph’s work in the Scottish Parliament.
Social media was intended to be a place to reconnect and a tool for good, not a place where people are made to feel bad about themselves.
Tele audience and content editor, Amy Shearer, said: "All too often the media are portrayed as being of detriment to mental health, not in support of normalising conversations surrounding it.
“As well as sharing positive stories about local people doing well and overcoming struggle to find hope tomorrow, the campaign has been endorsed by some amazing celebrities such as Still Game star Jane McCarry and entertainer and Britain’s Got Talent star, Edward Reid.
"We also have messages of support and guidance from many of our local groups and individuals working to create a more positive Inverclyde."
As well as today’s launch story in the paper about an award-winning local suicide prevention service going from strength to strength, tomorrow we will be sharing an inspirational interview with a Greenock man speaking out about his struggles to encourage others to do the same.
