THIRTEEN members of Port Glasgow Otters made a spectacular return to swimming after almost two years when they travelled to the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr to compete in the West of Scotland Regional Championships.

Ten teams participated in 60 events and they all had a magnificent day, with every member medaling.

They returned home with an amazing tally of 43 medals – 30 gold and 13 silver - as well as several personal bests being broken.

Kyle Brotherton won five gold medals in the 75m IM (class 4), 25m backstroke (class 8), 25m butterfly (class 4), 50m freestyle (class 4) and 25m breaststroke (class 8).

Four golds were won by Eve Cushnaghan in the 100m IM (class 4), 50m backstroke (class 3), 50m breaststroke (class 4) and 50m freestyle (class 3).

Isaac Dunning celebrated a hat-trick of gold medals in the 100m IM (class 2), 100m backstroke (open), 50m breaststroke (class 1) and two silver medals in the 50m butterfly (class 1) and 100m freestyle (open).

Richard Browning won five gold medals in the 100m IM (class 1), 50m backstroke (class 1), 50m butterfly (class 1), 100m breaststroke (open) and 100m freestyle (open).

Three gold medals were won by Lindi Steele in the 25m backstroke (class 9), 25m breaststroke (class 8) and 25m freestyle (class 8).

Emma Thompson struck gold in the 25m backstroke (class 8) and also won two silver medals in the 25m breaststroke (class 8) and 25m freestyle (class 8).

There was a double success for Paige McLean who won two gold medals in the 25m breaststroke (class 5), 50m freestyle (class 2) and a silver in the 50m backstroke (class 4).

Jordyn Fitzharris won a gold medal in the 50m freestyle (class 3) and two silver medals in the 50m backstroke (class 3) and 50m breaststroke (class 3).

The 50m backstroke (class 3) saw Chris Dillon win a silver medal.

Lee Morrison won two silver medals in the 25m breaststroke (class 6) and 50m freestyle (class 3).

Katy Boyle won a gold medal in the 100m freestyle (open) and two silver medals in the 50m backstroke (class 1) and 50m breaststroke (class 2).

Three gold medals were secured by Aimee Hagan in the 50m backstroke (class 1), 50m breaststroke (class 2) and 50m freestyle (class 1).

Stephen Coyle won two gold medals in the 50m backstroke (class 1), 50m breaststroke (class 2) and a silver medal in the 100m freestyle (open).
