BIG-HEARTED bar owners have raised a glass to customers who have topped up funds of a local good cause.

Wemyss Bay Station Bar helped raise £300 for Ardgowan Hospice through various fundraising activities organised by owners Harry and Kathy Monaghan.

The kind-hearted duo are no stranger to helping good causes, having donated thousands to different charities over the years.

Harry, who is currently organising a charity auction for SAMH and Man On Inverclyde on 16 April, told the Tele: "The hospice is a great cause and we're delighted to support.

"It would usually be more money, but with being closed much of last year it is less than usually.

"Our customers are very generous and always support any fundraising we do at the bar."

On hand to collect the donation was hospice fundraising officer Joanna Hunter who added: "We are very grateful to Harry and Kathy and the patrons of Wemyss Bay Station Bar for their ongoing support.

"This money will allow us to continue offering care and support to patients and their families throughout Inverclyde."
