COLLEGE lecturers in Greenock have praised students for their support after they stepped up a strike amid a pay rise row.
The action by the EIS-FELA union saw members walk out at West College Scotland for two days.
Depute branch secretary Mark Gillan said: “EIS-FELA members have doubled up on their strike action with much more to follow.
“Sadly, the employers’ side failed to return to the table with an improved offer, not an ounce of movement.
“Lecturers would like to thank students and the community of Inverclyde for their support, it has been quite astounding and very humbling.”
