PLANS for a multi-million pound project to transform one of the oldest buildings in Port Glasgow into a community hub have been approved.

Proposals to refurbish the town's historic King George VI building, which dates back to the 1700s, have been given the go-ahead by Inverclyde Council planners.

Solar panels, new windows and a new rear access stair extension are all part of the approved plans.

Significant alterations are also planned for the internal layout of the B-listed property on King Street.
