A NEW generation of tennis champs are courting attention as they come through the ranks at a busy summer camp.
Fort Matilda club, which is celebrating 100 years, is opening up its all-weather facilities to youngsters throughout the holidays.
Head coach Stephanie Swan and her team have worked closely with the club's committee to put on an action packed programme.
Kids from the age of three upwards are enjoying fun-filled sessions and making a racket.
They are all benefitting from a £60,000 investment in new courts, floodlighting and fencing to make the club fit for the 21st century.
Coach Stephanie said: "It is great to have the youngsters back again for our popular tennis camps.
"Fort Matilda is a great club with a really supportive committee who are very proactive.
"It is great to see the kids getting the opportunity to play.
"With the younger ones we play games and have fun and across all the the ages we work on skills like co-ordination."
The Tele recently reported on the celebrations for the centenary as the tennis club now looks to the future.
Fort Matilda has enjoyed a surge in membership and is hoping to capitalise on that during the centenary year.
