GREENOCK Morton Hockey Club is holding an open day at Inverclyde Academy next weekend.
The aim of the event is to encourage older adults and teens into their teams.
It is open to novices who would like to try the sport out, or people with experience who would like to get back into the game.
Player and ladies coach Fraser Melville said: "We’re really wanting to try and recruit as many players as possible and get back to having two men's teams and two ladies' teams."
Fraser says the event is mainly for anyone aged 15 and over and he hopes that the fact that the Commonwealth Games hockey games are on TV will bring a positive spin-off to publicise the club.
The open day is being held on Saturday August 13 from 12.30-2pm.
