CARING staff at a Gourock hairdressers proved they are a cut above as they donned their jammies for a day of fundraising.
The team at Remix Hairdressing in Kempock Street held a pyjama day to raise money for the British Liver Trust and Cancer Research UK.
Salon juniors Beth Hamill and Lauren Quinn organised the event to thank the charities for the support they have provided to their loved ones.
Beth's cousin Erin McCann was diagnosed with Wilson Disease - a rare disorder caused by excess copper in areas of the body - and had to have a liver transplant, while Lauren's brother Scott was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer in December.
Staff, clients, family and friends brought in a tasty selection of home baking and raised £534 in just a few hours.
Beth says the fundraiser was a great success.
She added: "These charities have really supported my wee cousin and Lauren's brother. They do amazing work here in Inverclyde and across Scotland.
"It's been a very emotional day for us and people have been so generous.
"It's not just been our clients who have donated, people have been popping in as they pass by and handing in money."
The team decided to don their nightwear to attract the attention of customers and passers-by to bring in even more donations.
Young Emily Canning, 10, also helped out by making all of the posters for the event.
Lauren says there was a real community feel to the day.
She added: "All of the staff had great fun dressing in their jammies and it was great to see so many people getting involved.
"We just wanted to raise as much for these two fantastic charities as we possibly could.
"It was a fantastic day and everyone was just so generous."
