IT was all steam ahead for a special class from St Patrick's Primary who enjoyed a trip 'doon the watter'.
The Primary 6 year group were invited to sail on the Waverley as a thank you for their fundraising efforts to help keep the grand old lady of the Clyde afloat.
When the youngsters were in Primary 3, they did a sponsored wall the length of the Clyde around the school's pitch for the vessel's charity.
With the paddle steamer now back in action after lockdown, they were finally able to get on board and sail from Glasgow back to their home town.
Depute head teacher Geraldine Ogilby, said: "It was a perfect school trip.
"The children had been learning all about Waverley and its history and so were full of questions on the day.
"In small groups they were able to explore the ship and interview officers and crew on their roles. They even got to visit the bridge and learn about navigation charts and radar.
"A lucky few even got to sound the ship’s whistle."
She added: "Thanks to all at Waverley for making the trip possible."
