A GOUROCK actress who made her movie debut in a hugely-anticipated superhero film has told of her regret after the £73m project was canned.
Jud Harron, who is signed with Real People Casting, was cast as an extra in Batgirl, an American superhero film based on the DC Comics character Barbara Gordon.
It was filmed in Glasgow at the start of the year amid much fanfare and the local actress grafted for three days, working through the night on scenes for the hotly anticipated production.
But the firm behind the film have now abandoned it, in what has been described as the 'most expensive shelving in Hollywood history'.
But despite the fact she will not get to see her efforts on screen, 34-year-old Jud insists the experience is 'one she will never forget'.
Jud, who also is a singer/songwriter, told the Tele: "This is the first big production I've been involved in and it was a really great experience.
"It's so disappointing that it has been shelved.
"When I heard the news I was really surprised.
"It was hard work, 12-hour shifts working through the night in Glasgow winter wasn't the easiest.
"It was still a great experience for me."
The film was scrapped after Warner Brothers supremo David Zaslav said there was a 'redirection of the company strategic vision'.
Jud is not alone in her disappointment at the axing of the movie, with many Glasgow residents and businesses slamming film bosses for the disruption caused in the busy Scottish city during filming.
She said: "The production took over so many parts of the city.
"I was filming scenes in George Square which had been made over to look like Gotham City.
"There were countless road closures and diversions put in place, so it's understandable why so many people are frustrated about it being cancelled after there was so much disruption.
"It's crazy to think such a big project can just be scrapped."
Jud says she will always have fond memories of being on set - including seeing Batgirl, played by American actress Leslie Grace, in action.
She added: "It was a really cool experience and something I'm glad I was part of.
"It was surreal seeing Leslie Grace herself on set, we all thought it would be her stunt double, not her.
"I'd love them to reverse their decision, but if we never get to see it the film I'm still pleased that I was involved in some way."
