A WEMYSS Bay woman is turning hidden gems found on local beaches into a bespoke sea glass jewellery collection.
Creative Lena Colville has started up her own business in her mid-70s and her service is in huge demand.
She started by picking up brightly coloured pebbles and glass while out walking and putting the objects to use.
The retired recruitment executive has now launched a new line in wedding fascinators and corsages.
She recently brought her hand-made collection to Kempock Street, taking over a new pop-up space in an award-winning shop.
Lena, who used to travel the globe with her job, said: "I have always been creative, it probably started when I learned to knit at my granny's knee.
"I love walking along the beach and I was fascinated by the colours of pebbles and sea glass I would find.
"I started to collect it and my daughter said I should do something with it.
"I started to make jewellery and then someone asked me to do something with sea glass for a fascinator for a wedding.
"So here I am and I've now launched my own business.
"I love making the jewellery.
"I try to help people as much as I can.
"One woman called me last minute and I put together corsages for a wedding the next day."
Lena is making good use of the new space in the bespoke Original Artists gift shop in Kempock Street.
She was the first entrepreneur to make use of the new pop-up, which gives artists and crafters the chance to showcase their work.
Lena said: "I can't thank Original Artists enough for this opportunity.
"It gives me a great chance to display my collections."
