A LOCAL suicide prevention and mental health charity have 'nailed it' with their preparations for a sold out charity event this evening.

Man On Inverclyde's new women's service, 'Talk On', enlisted the help of two big-hearted local beauticians to help members feel their best for the fundraising bash.

Generous nail technicians Robyn Baird and Toni Boyle volunteered their time at the charity's Nelson Street premises in Greenock to prime and polish members' nails.

Colette Cameron, the charity's marketing, communications and fundraising officer, said the Talk On team wanted to give members the chance to get pampered ahead of the Cruden Hall bash.

Colette told the Tele: "This is our first charity night and we wanted to give our members the chance to feel glamorous before it happens.

"We are really glad to have had the support of Robyn and Toni, they very kindly donated their time and we're incredibly grateful.

"The night has sold out, which is amazing, so we are all looking forward to having fun for a really good cause."

The men's service also benefitted from free haircuts offered by local barber Kevin O'Donoghue ahead of the event, which is being put on to mark suicide prevention month.

Members Isabel McMaster and Gemma Collins were two of the partygoers who were able to benefit from Robyn and Toni's good deed.

Gemma said: "It's been lovely to come along and be pampered ahead of the fundraiser.

"We are looking forward to a really good night."

Both nail technicians volunteered their services after Man On put out a plea for local beauticians to offer their support for the evening.

Robyn, who works at Butterfly & Wolf, said: "I started doing nails during lockdown and then decided to pursue it as a career.

"I saw Man On were looking for someone and wanted to offer my support - I think it's a very important charity."

Toni, who works under Nails by Toni B, added: "It felt nice to volunteer to do something for the group and I hope everyone at the fundraiser has a lovely time."
