A HAIR stylist from Greenock is celebrating the highlight of her career so far - after cutting the ribbon to her own salon.
Laura Hughes unveiled her new venture, Cabello, on the former Coastal Hair site on Shore Road in Wemyss Bay and says it has fulfilled a long-held dream of establishing her own premises.
To make the venture a family affair, Laura is bringing her sister Joanne Duffy into the business, while her husband Andrew carried out all the painting and joinery work in preparation for the opening.
Laura says having the salon will allow her to put down some roots in Inverclyde after spending time travelling to clients for appointments.
She said: "It's fantastic to finally have my own salon after years of hard work.
"To have something of this calibre is a dream come true.
"My husband and my mum really pushed me to open up my own salon as they knew how much I've wanted to take this step.
"I've managed to build a loyal and supportive customer base and I'm delighted to have somewhere I can call my own."
The new tenancy marks another successful letting for Inverclyde property firm, Bowman Rebecchi, who are tipping Laura's salon for a bright future.
Director Andrew Bowman said: "The finished unit is a stunning and welcome addition to the mix of existing businesses in Wemyss Bay.
"Laura took occupancy less than two weeks from the unit being acquired, which shows how we support all parties quickly.
"We would like to wish Cabello continued success and expect the business to have a promising future."
