A TEAM of dedicated leisure centre staff are making a splash for the next 12 weeks to raise funds for a spinal cord charity.
Cloch Leisure and Spa workers are taking on a 22 mile swim - the length of the English Channel - to raise funds for people paralysed by injury.
One of the charitable team of six hoping to raise funds for the Aspire charity is Nathan McKay, who has been at the Gourock fitness facility for a year.
The 29-year-old from Greenock told the Tele: "We are always looking for ways to do our bit for charity as a team, so thought this would be a great idea.
"We're all using our lunch breaks to do lengths.
"It is a really excellent cause and we're delighted to be doing our bit to help."
Aspire is a UK charity providing practical help to people who have been paralysed by spinal cord injury and support them with living independently.
Nathan said: "Our customers have been very generous and supportive of the venture.
"When we complete the challenge it will feel like a real achievement and hopefully it will raise a really good amount."
