INVERCLYDE Council could push ahead with plans to alter roads in Port Glasgow - despite a consultation showing people are against the proposed scheme.
The local authority's 'Auchenbothie Quietways' project has outlined proposed changes to create a safe road route from the Kilmacolm cycle path to its equivalent in the Port.
The plans include the implementation of 20mph zones in Mid Auchinleck, Slaemuir and Bardrainne, with the cycle route being moved from Marloch Avenue to Auchenbothie Road.
Speed bumps, lines and signs will be introduced, and a new crossing installed at Dubbs Road.
A public consultation on the plans was help in June and July this year, with 57.5 percent of those who responded being against it.
Councillors will discuss the plans at a committee meeting on Thursday.
