INVERCLYDE is coming close to being the most expensive place in Scotland for petrol again.
The average price for a litre of petrol in the area is now sitting at 171.7 pence, six pence more than the cost at the start of October.
Inverclyde was the most expensive place to fuel up in Scotland until mid-August, being overtaken by the Orkney Islands which remains top.
However, the price gap between the two localities is closing.
The average for a litre of petrol in the Orkneys currently is 171.9p - just marginally more than here - while fuel in nearby areas such as Glasgow and Renfrewshire is on average nine to 12 pence cheaper per litre respectively.
