COOL customers got the chance to try out winter sports in a day full of fun at the Waterfront ice rink in Greenock.
The venue hosted free curling, skating and hockey sessions to give young people the opportunity to experience activities on the ice with help from qualified coaches.
The team at the Waterfront Leisure Centre decided to run the event following a successful winter sports day in July.
Inverclyde Leisure's operations manager Stuart Boyle says the event aimed to encourage children to be active and boost their physical and mental health, and cognitive development.
Stuart highlighted evidence which shows if children are physically active when they're young, they're more likely to adopt healthy lifestyles when they're older.
He said: "After the success of the summer event, the team couldn't wait to run another winter sports day, only this time bigger and better.
"The event was really well attended and we had children of all ages coming along.
"It was great for them to have a go at sports they maybe wouldn't have thought of trying, or would not have had the opportunity to take part in before."
