EFFORTS of management and staff have ensured that Greenock's biggest bar did not 'loos' out on a top toilets title.
The James Watt in Cathcart Street has just been awarded a platinum rating by inspectors in the Loo of the Year Awards 2022.
Loo of the Year Awards inspectors made a number of unannounced visits to judge the Cathcart Street pub's lavatories, checking various aspects of them including décor and maintenance, cleanliness, accessibility, hand washing and drying equipment and overall management.
Neil Clark, the manager of the local Wetherspoon pub, said: "Staff at the pub ensure the toilets are in excellent condition at all times and it is great that this has been recognised by the inspectors."
Loo of the Year Awards managing director, Becky Wall, added: "The toilets at The James Watt have been designed and fitted out to a very high standard and are both clean and well maintained.
"The pub deserves its platinum award."
