A GREENOCK man donated a special soft toy to the Royal Family in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.
John Burleigh bought a Paddington Bear following the Queen's passing, and managed to get it delivered to her daughter, HRH The Princess Royal when she arrived in North Ayrshire recently.
The Princess visited the new Columba 1400 centre in her capacity as patron.
John added a tartan scarf to Paddington and affixed a note which said 'Please let me accompany Her Majesty The Queen to her final resting place, from the children of Scotland'.
HRH Princess Royal's lady in waiting Araminta Ritchie wrote to John thanking him for the 'charming' gift and said it would be given to children at Barnardo's to enjoy.
