A TALENTED team are hoping to put a new spin on Greenock's old Tobacco Warehouse as the iconic building holds its first major gig since lockdown.
Summer Friends Productions, an events company launched by local DJ Bruce Glenny and his friend Dylan McFadyen, will close the year with a bang as they stage their biggest ever bash at the historic venue on Haig Street.
Bruce and Dylan say they've pulled out all the stops for the show on December 28, which will see the DJ play alongside other top local acts.
Bruce is promising dance music fans a spectacular.
He said: "This will be the biggest gig we've done.
"We're really pushing the boat out with the production and using stuff we've never used before.
"We've got lights, lasers and lots more - it's going to be a great event and hopefully it brings a lot of people together.
"It's been a year since our first Summer Friends gig, which is mental considering how much we've done.
"If you told us last December that we would have done as many gigs as we have then we'd never have believed you.
"We want to make the Tobacco Warehouse feel like a different venue.
"People should come in and think they're in a completely different place.
"It's about bringing the feel of bigger events to the area."
The duo say the last 12 months has been a rollercoaster, with scores of successful events being arranged across Inverclyde and beyond.
Bruce added: "I could quite happily be the DJ who just turns up and plays his set, but the point of Summer Friends was to bring everything that we're doing back home.
"Each time we do a gig it seems to get bigger and bigger.
"There was so much more to running gigs than what we thought.
"I think people are really starting to take us seriously, we've got places approaching us now to run events.
"There are groups of 18 year olds who will never have done something like this because of the pandemic, so we want to give them a really special night.
"We'd really like this to be the first step towards something even better too."
