A PORT Glasgow salon's dream team could walk away with a hat-trick of awards at an 'Oscars-style' final.

Style queen Nicola Cox and her team at Amethyst will be red carpet ready for the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2023 ceremony in Birmingham

The King Street salon has been shortlisted for best salon, best salon team and owner Nicola could be crowned hair stylist of the year.

The bash will be hosted by reality TV star Jake Quickenden and promises to be a night of cutting edge drama for the girls.

Owner Nicola opened the salon with the backing of the Prince's Trust 12 years ago and it has taken off.

She said: "We are over the moon to be shortlisted and we can't wait for a great trip to the final.

"I can't believe we are now short listed for three categories."

To enter the finals the team sent shots and footage of themselves in action.

Now they will head for Birmingham in April next year after competition judges were impressed.

The awards hosted by Dancing on Ice, I'm A Celeb and X-Factor star Jake is a chance to celebrate the industry.

But it is also an opportunity for Nicola to thank her team, including Christine Russell, Lisa Mathieson and Julianna Morrell.

On the beauty side Nicola's sister Stephanie Alexander offers the full range of brows, lashes, waxing and nails along with Caitlynne Kelly Robertson

Amethyst has now become a one-stop shop for beauty with every treatment covered from head to toe.

Nicola, who is mum to five year old Annabelle, also thanked her husband Andrew for his support.

She said: "When I was starting out he just told me to go for it and has been behind me the whole time.

"It is great being your own boss."
