A YOUNG Greenock musician has been praised by her teacher for her success.

Andrea Crumlish, 17, has become only the second tenor horn player in history to be offered a place on the Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Andrea's tenor horn teacher Mark Good, who is musical director of Riverside Youth Band, said the Inverclyde Academy pupil's progress over the last few years had been 'remarkable'.

He added: "Andrea has worked extremely hard to fulfil her potential and this latest success is testament to her dedication.

"She has been a cornerstone of the band over the past few years and is now sharing her experience with the younger members."
