LONG suffering rail passengers in Inverclyde are facing yet more disruption to services.
There were no trains for almost all of last week due to a strike by Network Rail staff.
Now ScotRail have had to withdraw some trains from local routes to carry out safety checks.
The operator blamed the recent freezing weather for its latest cancellations.
A spokesperson said: "Our Class 380 fleet of trains which mainly operate in and around Ayrshire and Inverclyde have had to be withdrawn for maintenance inspections to be carried out following the extremely cold weather last week.
"Our engineers are working hard to carry out the inspections but unfortunately, we've not been able to get every train back in service which has resulted in cancellations to services operating between Glasgow and Ayrshire, and Inverclyde.
"Customers are advised to check the ScotRail app or website or visit http://journeycheck.com/ScotRail for the most up-to-date service alterations."
