TRAIN passengers in Inverclyde will have their travel plans disrupted throughout the festive season by strikes.
ScotRail services will be hit during more walkouts by the RMT's Network Rail staff, as they fight for a larger pay-rise from their bosses.
On Christmas Eve services will only run as normal until around 3pm, before 'winding down'.
As normal there are no trains on Christmas Day, but there will be no services on Boxing Day this year either because of the industrial action.
Then on Tuesday December 27 trains will begin later than usual due to the shift start times of Network Rail signallers.
On New Year’s Eve services will stop even earlier than normal.
David Simpson, ScotRail service delivery director, said: “It’s really disappointing to see more disruption across the whole network as a result of the dispute between Network Rail and the RMT at a time when we need to be encouraging more people back to the railway."
