FORMER Greenock Academy classmates are set to get back together for a 50 year anniversary reunion.

Organisers are looking for the year group who would have left the school after sixth year back in 1973, or from fifth year in 1972, to join them for a special dinner being held at Gourock Golf Club.

This will be followed by a weekend of activities, with some of the ex classmates reuniting for the first time since their school days.

So far the organisers have tracked down former pupils who are living all over the UK and even in Australia, with 40 people signed up so far.

Now they are looking for Tele readers help to trace everyone else and send them an invite to the gathering.

One of the organisers, Kenneth Warwick, said: “Perhaps Telegraph readers will recognise someone in photo or know of someone from the year group who should be invited along to the reunion.”

Some of the 125 people who were in the year group are in the supplied picture from primary school - all but three of those pupils pictured went on to attend the Academy.
